Well heeled for a Quality deal!
Tuesday, November 16th, 2010Compare a genuine Dominion Sheepskin boot to a cheaper copy.
You will notice it just seems to look and fit better! Why?……………Quite often cheaper versions are not heel molded.
Heel molding is done on a specialized machine that heat sets the reinforcement stiffener that is placed between the sheepskin and heel suede. After heat setting, it is cooled on a heel shaped mould that locks in the proper 3 dimension heel shape. It’s important also that the heel reinforcement material extends down into the side stitched sole as in our styles Lara, Annelise, Monarch, Apollo, Artemis, Rosie, Jean and Edmund – or is caught under the binding as in our style Godiva. Failure to do this in the manufacturing process can result in the heel suede wearing and ripping away from the sole. All Dominion sheepskin Boots are heel molded.
As well as looking more please to the eye, a well form heel on a Sheepskin Boot helps prevent ‘heel slip’ – by hugging your heel in place.
When you buy your sheepskin boots, always ensure they fit very snug. After a few days wearing, the 100% wool fleece moulds to the natural shape of your foot which allows a roomier fit.
